Having begun her training at the young age of 7, it was in 2005 at the age of 15 that Dusty Button moved to New York City to train at the Jackie Kennedy Onassis School of the American Ballet Theatre and won the Youth American Grand Prix. In 2007 Button joined the American Ballet Theatre's second company, ABT II and in this time she performed the lead in Adam Hougland's "Vanished". Only four months later, at the age of 18, She received scholarship to the Royal Ballet School. While living her dreams and studying in London, she performed the Lead in David Bintley's "Gallantries" as well as the lead in Natalie Weir's "Unwritten" in Lodon's Royal Opera House. Just before Graduating with honors and receiving the "Dame Ninette De Valois Bursary", Button also performed with the Royal Ballet in "Sylvia and the Sleeping Beauty".
Upon Granduation she was invited to join the Birmingham Royal Ballet where she immediately blossomed and performed various principal roles such as "Skinny", The Evil Stepsister in David Bintley's "Cinderella", "The Temperment Fairy" in Sir Peter Wright's "The Sleeping Beauty", "Stomper" in Twyla Tharp's "In the Upper Room" The Third Movement in Kenneth Macmillian's "Concerto", Hans Van Manen's "Grosse Fuge", David Bintley's "Gallantries" And the Lead Role in "The Center and it's Opposite" Created on Button by Gary Stewart.
In 2011 she ventured outside of the ballet world to expand her empire to other industries, primarily mastering her art of choreography around the globe. While sharing her visions with various companies and organizations she also curated a collection of guest performances for professional companies around the world such as the American Ballet Theatre, K Ballet of Japan, The ACE Awards, Broadway Underground, Alvin Ailey, and Ballet Hawaii. During this time Dusty received a variety of international invitations as a feature artist amplifying galas and events by showcasing her talents.
Button joined the Boston Ballet in march of 2012 as a member of the Corps de Ballet. There she was quickly promoted to soloist in 2013 and then again to Principal in early 2014. While rapidly advancing to her current rank of Principal, her roles included "Gamzatti" and "Shade" in "La Bayadere", the lead in "Resonance" which was created on her by Jose Martinez, the lead couple in Alexander Eckman's "Cacti", "The Fairy Godmother" and "Winter Fairy" in Sir Fredrick Ashton's "Cinderella", the "Dryad Queen" in "Don Quixote", "The Sugar Plum Fairy"-"Dew Drop" & "The Snow Queen" in Mikko Nissenin's "The Nutcracker", "The Dark Angel" in George Balanchine's "Serenade", William Forsythe's "The Second Detail", Jorma Elo's "Plan to Be"- "C to C" & "Awake Only", "The Lilac Fairy" in "The Sleeping Beauty", Jiri Kylians "Wings of Wax", The leading role in The 3rd movement of George Balanchine's "Symphony in C" and in his "Jewels" she starred as the "Tall Girl" of "Rubies" as well as one of the lead couples in "Emeralds". This list continues to name various other starring roles such as the Principal couple from George Balanchine's "War and Discord" and "Summer" in his "Coppelia" as well as the Pas de Trois & Pas De Cinq in Mikko Nissinen's World Premiering "Swan Lake".
Dusty has choreographed for both the Birmingham Royal Ballet and the Boston Ballet. She has a vast catalog of experience with modeling, film, national television, and international print work to amplify her versatility.
